2015 marks 175 years of continual family farming by the Dennis’ at Tarndwarncoort, and we’d like to share the big occasion over a picnic with all the trimmings of the rich Otway hinterland life. Music, food, wines, beers, cider, tours, stalls – all from the region, all for your delight.
Bring along a picnic, or pre-order one prepared by Sorella Foods of Birregurra. With plenty of barbeques set up for your use, feel free to source some delicious local meats to bring, or pre-order a Bush Foods BBQ Pack.
Music will feature in this year’s special event, with 5 bands from around Victoria unleashing their alt-country, folksy, blues tunes during the day. Spread the picnic rug, grab a drink and feed your ears to Jackson McLaren and the Triple Threat, Amistat, Alister Turrill, Jordan Riddle and Murray McDonald as they play out the day.
A bar stocking the best of regional beers and wines, plus a wide variety of ciders from around the world, will keep the good vibes going. The Pimms Lawn will also be a feature with games befitting a summertime picnic in the majestic gardens at Tarndwarncoort.
Set in the 1860s Old Ciderhouse, guests will be able to join a Cider Masterclass to learn truth behind the diverse world of cider with an expert cidermaker.
Guided tours of the 175 year old farm and Homestead will be available during the day to discover the real story of life on the land during the first 175 years of European settlement.
