You are invited to join Wool Gathering and Tarndie for a series of events designed to strengthen knowledge, community and skills.
The program is in 2 parts – Wine & Yarn on Saturday, and Workshops on Sunday. Come for one part or both.
Wine & Yarn
Delve deep into the woolcraft world by learning from the people who work in it from the farmer through to the designers.
At the same time, enjoy a taste of the Otway regions finest wines.
Saturdays 2:30pm to 5pm
Enhance your skills with a range of crafts being taught by highly talented tutors. The Sunday program allows 2 sessions for tutorials, with a gap in the middle for lunch, a walk around the farm, and some quiet time in the Homestead to apply your learnings.
Sundays 9am to 5pm

Textile fibre explained: a look at characteristics, processing and purpose
Forty-five years immersed in fibre has lead to Stuart Macpherson being one of the industry’s most experienced and knowledgable operators. Stuart currently tutors the next generation of wool classers, but has also worked in every stage between growing to yarn creation. Working in mills that specialized in scouring, topmaking and spinning for knitters and weavers, Stuart has built an immense bank of information on fibre characteristics and processing that is bound to enlighten every fibre user.

Knit Share Love
Join Clare on a yarn adventure across the oceans. She will share her experiences of designing and working within the fibre community in South Africa, the UK and Australia. We will look at the resurgence of ‘shop local’ when it comes to the fibre we knit with, examining similarities and differences between the UK and Australia – exploring small batch yarns, how they are being created and what they mean to Clare as a designer and all of us as crafters. Clare will talk specifically about the Neighbo(u)rhood Sheep Society project and more recent work with local producers in Victoria and Queensland. You can find out more about Clare at Knit Share Love.
