Felting instructed by Pam Fyfe

felt scarf

Topic: Felting a scarf

Learn how to make a beautiful scarf from Polwarth wool using felting. Textile artist Pam Fyfe will show you her secret methods, where you can incorporate many colours and even some silk to create a one of a kind garment that is more of a decoration than a scarf.

Using untreated, semi-processed natural Polwarth wool is what makes this possible as it responds to the technique and once you have mastered the process in this one day workshop, you will be able to create all kinds of items.

What you will learn

  • Preparation of wool for felting
  • Felting techniques such as layering, texturing and shaping, drying and stretching
  • incorporating silk and other textiles for effect
  • caring for your felted garment

Take away

  • your own scarf made with your individual style
