Dye Workshop Fun - May 2024

Nine woolly souls dipped themselves into the dyebath of discovery recently at a one day workshop - “An Introduction to Acid Dyeing Wool Yarn” with us at Tarndie.

This post shows the final pieces of work where each participant dyed up a big skein in at least 4 colours. It was an exercise in playing with colour - and didn’t they nail it! Each one different.

The skiens were 400gm of 4ply white which were steamed and then re-skeined into 100gm (or a little more which is why there is an “A” version of the same number). The two photos show the original dye layout and what the skein looks like once it’s turned into 100gm. Neat huh!

If you like the look of the yarn, then you can make it yours by selecting the item number below and puchasing through our Online Store.
