A special afternoon event to celebrate 15 years of communal wool craft at Tarndwarncoort.
A later start at 1:00pm through to 4:00pm with Afternoon Tea included.
An afternoon dedicated to your own woolcraft project. Join in with others who work at handspinning, knitting, crochet, weaving, needle felting and all other forms of textiles.
Set in the surrounds of historic Tarndwarncoort Homestead - the home of Polwarth sheep. Tarndie's own yarn and patterns available for purchase in the Farm Shop to get started.
Afternoon tea with self-serve tea/coffee is included in the fee.
If the date does not show, it means all spots have been booked - but check in closer to the date as bookings do become available if someone has to (easily) cancel and give up their spot.
15 year blanket
Would you like to contribute to a very special blanket to mark the 15th anniversary of Crafty Sundays?
We’re asking for 6 inch squares that can be stitched together to create a blanket of many hands that will be auctioned at the Back to Back Day on 29 March to raise funds for Rare Cancers Australia.
It can be knitted or crocheted, with any kind of embellishment, or even a plain pattern. But it must be 6 inches by 6 inches to make for easier work by the wonderful crocheter who is contributing her time in stitching it all together.
To add an extra layer of specialness, please use 8ply Polwarth wool, from Tarndie or any other yarn company with Polwarth wool yarn.
You can drop off the squares (more than one if you like!) during shop hours or post them to Tarndie so we have them all by Sunday 2 March.
As a guide, a 6 inch square in 8ply Polwarth yarn on 4mm needles needs a 33 stitch cast on. Or you could do a 5 stitch cast on and increase each row until one edge is 6 inches long, then decrease each row.
