Dip into the intriguing world of naturally dyeing wool yarn where the plants around us bring colour and design to our crafts.
This introductory class us a hands-on overiew of mordanting and colour modifying and exploration of three plants: Cherry Ballart (Exocarpos cupressiformis), Argyle Apple (Eucalyptus cinerea) and Indigo.
In a small group of up to 8, participants will dye 100gm of Tarndwarncoort’s 4ply Polwarth yarn in 4 colours - enough to create the Tarndie Beanie with knitting pattern included.
Tutors: Tom Dennis (the apprentice) and Heather Locock (the experience) who enjoy discovering beautifully harminous colours for Polwarth wool.
$165 - includes tution, morning tea, 4 x 25gm 4ply Polwarth yarn and a beanie knitting pattern to use the yarn you dye.
